What is a Relevant PM?
“Something (A) is relevant to a task (T) if it increases the likelihood of accomplishing the goal (G), which is implied by T.” (Hjørland & Sejer Christensen,2002)

In traditional terms the Relevant PM is a seasoned professional who maintains the appropriate balance between methodology (i.e. has passed the PMP exam) and any knowledge unique to experience. Most recently Relevance has picked up a third component, code word: quick to market. Leadership drives Organizational Process Assets (OPA) deeper into the project world. This makes some PM’s wonder if Process is taking control of Critical Path.
This website considers the impact all of this has on the PM practice, i.e. keeping up, and executing the PMP’s Statement of Work. I make no claim of mastering this brave new world, although I am resolved to do so. I think and write a lot about it. I need your help because the rules of science require at least 10 ² test subject go under the microscope.
It is our hope and intent to draw the PM community into this open conversation. In a perfect world nobody would agree with me and wouldn’t be bashful about calling me out.
